“Congratulations on a job well done.
Over the past few months we have witnessed the construction of the stone retaining wall and barrier to a length of Barnsley Road.
The finished wall has enhanced the area, is pleasing to perceive, is well built and the site left clean, neat and tidy.
The workforce were conscientious, working cleanly and efficiently from arriving on site early morning to leaving at the end of the day, with a minimum interference to all of us who live down the lane. In adverse weather conditions – hot sun, wind and rain and wearing protective clothing, they all remained courteous, pleasant and polite.
We have nothing but admiration for this fine team of industrious workmen and feel that their excellent work should not go unrecognised. We congratulate all of you.”

“I am writing to thank you for all of your efforts in bringing the [University of York Stem Centre construction] project to a successful conclusion.
Whilst a project is always a team effort, we would wish to single out Mick Speight for his special efforts, care and good humour throughout the project.
Needless to say, we should be delighted to work with the Bentley Team in the near future.
Thanks to all.”

We’ve had men working on our cellar for the past few weeks, making it waterproof. They have all been very nice fellows, they have been helpful, clean (where possible) and always cheerful.
It can’t be easy working in people’s houses, now the job is coming to a close I shall quite miss them.
They are a credit to their firm.”

“In our role as managers of property projects throughout North Yorkshire, we frequently find ourselves writing to contractors highlighting omissions and under-achievement in health and safety performance.
I am therefore delighted to be able to write to your company to say how impressed we have been with your performance at the [Brougham Street and Otley Street Children’s Centres] sites together with your systems and attitude in general.
We have communicated this to our client [North Yorkshire County Council] and we have been asked to pass on their compliments regarding your performance and the overall Health and Safety culture within your company. As CDM Co-ordinators it is encouraging to receive Construction Phase Health & Safety plans that embrace the spirit of the 2007 CDM Regulations in its entirety.
As a very health and safety conscious company, Jacobs have developed their own ‘Beyond Zero’ initiative. It was therefore most encouraging to see your ‘Be Involved’ campaign encouraging all your operatives to act positively with regard to Health & Safety.
We look forward to working with you again in the future on many successful, incident free projects.”
