JN Bentley is an innovative, forward-thinking company with various opportunities for graduates. We look for applicants who have a keen interest in construction, use their initiative and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
JN Bentley has a number of offices across their operating regions throughout the UK, with the head office based in Skipton (North Yorkshire). Other offices are located in Durham, Skelmersdale (North West), Blackburn (North West), Shifnal (Shropshire), Leeds, Peterborough and Wales. Further details can be found here.
JN Bentley offers graduate roles in:
This depends on each operating region throughout the business and can change year on year, whilst roles may also become available in busy periods.
Depending on the role you're applying for, you may be asked to attend either an assessment centre or an interview.
The assessment centre can vary in style but will generally include a group activity, a specific task relating to the role and an individual interview. Don't worry though, we try our best to keep the day fun and relaxed to make sure we get the best out of our applicants.
JN Bentley keeps its interview informal in style. The process consists of a series of questions; none of them trick ones, you'll be glad to know. The only 'formal' part of the interview will be when we ask you to talk about yourself. Here we prefer you to just speak rather than produce a fancy PowerPoint presentation.
As soon as you see JN Bentley's graduate roles advertised on the website; you can apply online.
Alternatively, you can send your CV and a covering letter with the graduate job title and location(s) you want to apply for, to firstname.lastname@example.org or post to our HR Department, JN Bentley Ltd, Keighley Road, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 2QR.
The closing date for graduate roles is displayed on each role description.
Nine times out of ten your interview will be where your position is advertised to be. However, on some occasions the interview may be at a different office location - if you live nearer to one of our offices rather than where the role is, for instance.
Your application will be acknowledged upon receipt - we will then process your application as soon as possible.
JN Bentley is more than happy to reimburse any reasonable travel costs associated with attending a graduate interview.
You will work at the location where your role has been advertised. If there are more than one location, this will be discussed within the interview. Full details can be found on each graduate role description.
A choice of start dates will be sent to you with your offer letter. We are very flexible on start dates, with many graduates opting to start their role within the summer period.
JN Bentley's standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, with general working hours between 8:30am and 5pm - with an hour for lunch. This might vary depending on the role you are doing and the responsibilities you've been given. Sometimes you might be asked to start work early or finish later depending on the demands of the job.
All of our employees receive 26 days holiday plus all statutory and bank holidays too.
5 days have to be used at Christmas when the whole business closes for the week. Our holiday runs from the beginning of March until the end of February.
If you choose not to use all of your holiday entitlement, you will forfeit the surplus days you don't take - this is as we aim to encourage our employees to have a break once in a while.
