Environment

Throughout our history much of our work has been associated with water and the water environment.

We have completed flood defence schemes in tidal and non-tidal waters and constructed fish passes and gauging stations for the Environment Agency.

We have wide experience of land drainage works for the Internal Drainage Boards and have constructed surface water storage systems and pumping stations well below natural ground water level, and often well below sea level.  More recently we have applied Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDS) techniques to our projects, including a hardstanding that we designed and constructed for Walkers’ Snack Foods.

Our current framework with the Coal Authority is for the construction of minewater remediation projects, which include pumping stations and reed beds. One of our 2008 projects also includes the construction of a short sea outfall.

We see the potential to apply our knowledge and expertise to the renewable energy sector.  We are already working on some exciting new developments in hydro-power and we’re keen to build on our portfolio in this sector.
