Health and Safety Policy
Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement
Commitment
"Our Company safety vision is to achieve ZERO injuries and ZERO instances of work related ill health."
This is underpinned by a fundamental belief that all workplace injuries and instances of occupational ill-health are preventable and that good health and safety management is good business. We will not carry out work activities unless we can do them safely.
The board of directors of JN Bentley Ltd (JNB) and its subsidiary Mott MacDonald Bentley Ltd (MMB) accept the moral and legal responsibility for the health and safety of employees and other parties who may be affected by the Company’s operations. The Company regards the promotion of health and safety measures as a mutual objective for management and employees at all levels.
To support this statement, in 2011/12 JNB and MMB will:
- Develop its Integrated QES Management System (BIMS) and supporting documents;
- Launch a new ‘2010+’ Safety Strategy detailing specific initiatives, individuals' responsibilities and expectations;
- Update and re-brief ‘Personal Safety Responsibilities’ to all employees;
- Review and update all ‘Operational Safety Standards’, reinforcing minimum standards and improving clarity;
- Encourage all persons to challenge unsafe behaviours and to acknowledge instances of safe behaviour to promote and encourage a safe working culture;
- Streamline the current health and safety incident and near miss reporting system to encourage more effective reporting, investigation and analysis of trends.
