JN Bentley wins a place on five lots of public sector contracts for North, East, West and South Yorkshire

After 12 months of passing through several detailed and comprehensive tendering stages, JN Bentley is delighted to have been awarded a place on five lots of the YORbuild Framework for North, East, West and South Yorkshire.

For Yorkshire’s local authorities alone, around a third of their current spend each year is allocated to construction projects, which is about £1.2 billion a year.

As this represents such a large part of the region’s public spend, YorBuild was launched as an innovative and collaborative project between councils.  YorBuild aims to help the 22 Local Authorities, and other public sector and not-for-profit organisations in the region, to co-ordinate and manage contracts with construction companies more efficiently and effectively.

Director, Jon Cain of JN Bentley Ltd said, “As we’re a Yorkshire-based, family-run company, we’re really proud to have been awarded a place on five lots of YorBuild’s framework contracts to help local authorities with new building and refurbishment projects in our region over the next four years.

“Projects will be varied and could call on different areas of our expertise from building works for schools and hospitals to civil engineering solutions for roads and bridges.”

He added, “We’ve had some really good contract wins this year, both for JN Bentley and through our subsidiary, Mott MacDonald Bentley.  Although the recession has been very tough for the construction industry, we’ve worked hard to make sure we’re going into 2010 in a really strong position.”
